Attended the Univercity of Texas at El Paso, graduating with a BBA in business administration. Married Herlinda Villarreal in 1974 and went to work for the El Paso County Clerk. Began my Stewart Title career in December 16, 1977 as a title investigator and moved up to an Escrow Officer in 1979, Vice President in 1984 and President of Stewart Title El Paso in 1986. Developed a title product for Mexico in 1992 and moved to Houston in 1994 to run the Latin America Division for Stewart. Linda and I moved to Mexico City to run our newly created Stewart Title Guaranty de Mexico, S. A. de C. V., in 2001. Once the office was up and running Stewart brought us back to Houston in the summer of 2004 to do Underwriting for all of Latin America. Our son Mike married Shannon Laurance in 2006 and they have a son born, September 22, 2008 named Corbin Michael Barraza. Our second grandchild Anabelle Rose Barraza born July 5, 2011 the day of our 37th Wedding Anniversay.

I have been a member of the Sun Bowl Team Host Committee for 23 years and have enjoyed friendships made with my team member as well as the teams that we have hosted during these years.

Additionally I love to smoke meat. "Not that kind of smoking." I joined a cooking team upon my arrival in Houston and have enjoyed that very much as well. I have developed my own dry rub that I use to season the meat, be it brisket, pork ribs, chicken, turkey or fish. We have lots of fun during the cookoff event.
