CEASAR JAVIER CORTEZ
Obituary

Ceasar Javier Cortez, 64, of El Paso died Wednesday, January 22nd. Ceasar was born to Ernestina and Jesus Cortez on November 29, 1949. He is survived by his wife Marta Ruth Cortez, his brother Jesus Cortez and partner Tony Gheller, sister Margarita Olivas, nieces, nephews, godchildren and many friends. It is impossible to say all of what made the man, Ceasar Cortez. He was an incredible athlete and carried a lifelong love of sports. An intelligent man who put it to work in entrepreneurial endeavors and political activism as a Precinct Judge. His love of cooking was only outmatched by his hospitality; there was always room for more at his table. For those who knew him well, he will be remembered for his unshakable love for family, friends, life and his unbound generosity. We will all miss him terribly. He served proudly as a Combat Medic from May 12, 1970 to March 14, 1972. Ceasar earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Two Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Devices. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the following doctors for their care and support: Dr. Sonya Alvarez M.D., Dr. Teodoro Navarro M.D., Dr. Elva Smallwood L.M.S.W, Dr. Irma Chiucch M.D. and Dr. Abraham Gonzalez M.D.
